The Writer
Writing is the place where scattered thoughts find a home.
I have always been drawn to the movement of words—whether in poems, essays, stories, speeches or reflective morning messages. Writing allows an ordinary moment to be examined until its hidden meaning becomes visible.
A poem may begin with a smile, a wound, a cloud or a passing thought. A story may begin with a key, a stranger, a bus stop or an unanswered question. The writer’s task is to remain attentive to such beginnings.
Writing is also an act of revision. The first draft captures the emotion; the later draft searches for precision. A beautiful thought can weaken under unnecessary words. A simple sentence can become powerful when it is placed exactly where it belongs.
From my first book Aatmavicaram, Novels All you need is a Hug, All you need is Love and A few milestones I left behind, general books like Sweat Blood and Quill for which I was honjoured with Rabindranath Tagore Award for literature, I now stand at over 100 books in English, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. Twice selected as one of the best 100 Indian authors in English and also honoured with critics award for my writing.
Over time, my morning poems have become a conversation with readers—a small daily reminder that hope, gratitude and kindness deserve space in our lives. The discipline of writing regularly has taught me that inspiration is welcome, but consistency is indispensable. Those poems are now being released as books with 150 to 200 octets under the title “Smiles and Moments”
Also scripted Short films, commercials, corporate videos and donned the cap of a lyricist in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, English and Urdu in many projects.
Words do not merely describe life. Sometimes, they help us endure it.
